I want to welcome everyone to my new blog. (Yes, I've had one for a while, but more on that later.) For those who don't know me, let me tell you a bit about myself.

Who I Am
I'm 29, have been married for nearly 10 years, have a 4 year old daughter and a 3 year old son. I grew up on a farm in south central Kansas, and love my midwestern roots. That's the strange thing about being a native Kansan. You're not Southern, you're not a Yankee, you're just a Kansan.

Education
I'm a graduate of Rogers State University in Claremore, OK where I received a BS in Business Information Technology. I work for a public safety software company, though I am also attempting to start my own software/computer services company, SkyProphet. I will be starting graduate school this fall through Tarleton State University, majoring in Information Systems.

Interests
Obviously, I'm a computer geek. I also study meteorology (one year into the meterology program at the University of Oklahoma before I had to quit because I just didn't have enough time), have a Technician class amateur radio license, am a storm spotter, hold three FEMA certifications for Emergency Management, and love watching sports (I'm a guy). Favorite teams include the Kansas State Wildcats, San Antonio Spurs, Texas Rangers, and I'm currently looking for a team to follow in the English Premiership. (Thinking about Chelsea, but don't want to be a bandwagon fan.)

Personal and Family
In addition to all this I occasionally lead worship at church, am the youth director and Sunday School teacher, and my wife and I lead a home group. Our kids go to a university model private Christian school where my wife also teaches. We are huge Disney fans and try to get to Walt Disney World every year, though it's looking like every other year is more likely. I love reading, though my interests usually lie in Star Wars, Harry Potter, Christian living, small business and entreprenuer, and some other fiction.

Why I'm Writing
I want to get ideas out. I want to contribute to the Great Conversation. I want to be a part of something bigger than my little town.  I'm not the best writer, but what I do post, I believe completely. I welcome criticism as it helps me to sharpen my beliefs. If I'm wrong, I'll be the first to admit that too.

Why I'm Moving
Why did I move it over from my original site at claywginn.com? Well, to be honest, I'm hoping to get some new readership. It's all about exposure.

Vain?

Absolutely.

I'm not really content with posting just about daily happenings at home. I know my family still wants to see pictures of the kids, and they will still get their wish. However, most of my postings are going to be over here now.
